How do I link my Social Media (Facebook, Twitter & Google+) accounts for future ease of logging in?

You can easily link all or some of your Social Media accounts by going to your account settings in the app and simply logging in.

How do I change the personal email address I signed up with?

You are able to change the email address you signed up with in the "General" section in your account settings.

How can I change my password?

Your password can be easily and instantly changed in the account settings page on both the website and the mobile app.


What are the available options to receive cashback?

You can receive your cashback either straight into your PayPal account, or we can send you a cheque. 
We are looking into other options such as bank transfer or Amazon vouchers. We will make these available depending on the demand for them. If you want either of these options, please let us know via Feedback@shopitize.com.

What is the minimum amount I can withdraw from my Shopitize account?

The minimum amount you can withdraw is £5. We would recommend building your balance a bit as, depending on your redemption option; you may incur more charges for multiple withdrawals.

What is the maximum amount of cashback that I can accrue?

We have not put a maximum limit on the amount of cashback you can potentially build up.

Can I withdraw my cashback more than once?

You can withdraw your cashback as many times as you like, as long as you have reached the minimum withdrawal of £5. We would recommend keeping your withdrawals to a minimum though as, depending on your redemption option, you may incur more charges for multiple withdrawals.

How long until I receive my cashback after I've withdrawn it?

If you want your qualifying cashback balance to be sent to your PayPal account we will aim to put it there within two business days. If you choose to receive your qualifying balance by Cheque please allow 14 days (although we will try to do if faster).

How does Shopitize work?

Download & install the Shopitize Android or iPhone App for FREE! Browse the offers from your favourite supermarket brands, and then Shop, Snap & Save! For some offers we may require you to scan the barcode of the product, but this is just to verify that you have the correct product. Once you have purchased the correct product, just snap the receipt using our app and we will give you cashback straight into your Shopitize account. Once you have reached the minimum redemption (£5), you can then withdraw your cashback either by cheque or PayPal.

How much does it cost?

Shopitize is absolutely FREE! Both to download the app and to use our web portal.

Can I use the app whilst offline (not connected via 3G or Wi-Fi)?

Yes you can but make sure you're already signed in. Anything you do whilst offline will be automatically updated when you return online.

Offers and Rewards

How do I verify the product I’m buying is the correct one?

For some of the offers you find on Shopitize we ask you to scan the barcode of the product. As each barcode is specific, you can easily verify you are buying the correct product whilst in-store.

Do I just snap receipts and I get rewarded if I have bought products that are on offer?

For some offers, yes, this will be the case. For others, we may ask you to scan the barcode of the product on offer first, to make sure you have got absolutely the right product. You can find this out in the Offer Details page.

Can I snap my receipt more than once?

Yes, you can snap and upload the same receipt as many times as you like. We will only be able to reward you for the receipt once though.

Do you work independently of retailer loyalty cards/points?

Yes, we do. If you get awarded loyalty points for your purchases, we still reward you. If the product is already on offer, we still reward you. However, make sure you check the offer details for full information and to check specifically which retailers each offer is available at.

Can I buy a product from a store not listed on Shopitize?

All of the offers we have will be specific to certain stores. You can find out which stores each offer is available at by looking in the offer details page (the 3rd screen once you have selected the offer).

What do I do if there are multiple offers on one receipt?

We will recognise and reward all offers that are valid on your receipt. However, for some offers we ask you to scan the barcode first, this is to verify that you are buying the correct product. The best time to do this is to scan whilst you shop. That way you know you’re buying the correct products, and all that’s left is for you to snap your receipt!

I bought a product on offer but I have not been rewarded for it.

We’re very sorry to hear that! Please check the Offer Details to make sure you have purchased the correct product, from the correct store, and that it was purchased within the validity date. All this information needs to be visible on the photo you take! Also, for some offers, we ask you to scan the barcode prior to snapping your receipt. This is just to verify that you have purchased the correct product. If you are still having trouble, please get in touch with us via Feedback@shopitize.com.

My receipts have been rejected for rewards, why?

There are a number of possible reasons why your receipts may have been rejected. We will provide a reason attached to the specific receipt that can be found in the receipt details page. Below is an explanation of each reason:

Duplicate Receipt 
The same receipt has been used for the same offer more than once.

Forged Receipt 
The receipt in question has been:

• Physically altered 
• Artificially created 
• This is not a receipt

Invalid Date 
The receipt in question is not within the validity date of the offer.

Invalid Retailer
The receipt in question is not from a valid retailer.

Invalid Product 
The product on the receipt in question is not the correct product.

Do I have to complete my profile?

Although you do not have to complete your profile, we definitely advise it! This will allow us to give you much more personalised and relevant offers.

How many times can an offer be used?

On each receipt you snap, each product with offer can only be redeemed once; ie. if you buy 2 or more Andrex on one receipt, you will be rewarded for only one Andrex.

Each offer has different limitation in the total rewards available per user. The easiest way to see whether you can still redeem an offer again is to always refresh your offers after getting new rewards, and the offers no longer available to you will disappear from the list.


What is the best way to snap a receipt?

As with any photo, lighting is key, so don’t use a darkroom! Place the receipt on a flat surface with your phone or camera directly above it and snap! It really is that easy. The better the quality of the photo, the better we can process the information for you.

How much of the receipt needs to be in the photo?

All of it! Including any information you may think is irrelevant. If not all of the information is captured then we may not be able to give you a reward.

What if the receipt is too long or there is information on both sides?

Our app is specifically designed to cater for such a problem. We have a fantastic ‘Stitch’ function within the app that will allow you to connect 2 or more photos together.

Does the quality of my receipt photo matter?

Yes, it is extremely important. We need the photo to be of the best possible quality so that we can recognise every last bit of information on the receipt. If we can’t recognise all the information, we might not be able to give you a reward.

Does it matter if my receipt is damaged or only partially readable?

Yes, the receipt should be in as prefect condition as possible. If it is damaged, such as crinkled, ripped or any other way, it will heavily reduce the likelihood of us processing it receipt correctly. If we cannot process it correctly, you may not get rewarded for it.

Can I snap receipts from any shop?

We are currently best at identifying receipts from major grocery stores for things you regularly need and buy. However, do not worry if you would also like to keep track of your spending and receive personalised recommendation and offers on other items, we are working on other categories such as fashion, skincare, and restaurants. How do I upload receipts?

It's very easy! Just snap a picture of a receipt with our app.

Does uploading a receipt count towards my data plan allowance?

Yes it does, but we're always thinking of you. For Android, in-app, there is a setting where you can only allow the app to upload via Wi-Fi connection, which does not. For iPhone, go to your phone's general settings, select the app and you can change it there.

Do you accept e-receipts and Internet shopping receipts?

We currently only work with paper receipts printed from supermarket cashiers at the moment. However, We're working on processing e-receipts and online shopping receipts this year, and we'll certainly announce it on our website, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ when it's ready!. How long does it take to process my receipts?

For the most part, we can process your receipts within a relatively short period of time, but please allow up to 24 hours.

Can I snap receipts when I have no 3G or Wi-Fi connection?

You can snap receipts wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, and they’ll be placed in a queue. When you do re-connect, they will be automatically uploaded for you.

Tags & Categories

What are tags?

Tags are a way of labelling each receipt. This allows you to personalise the way you label a receipt, making it easy for you to group receipts with similar themes, or retrieve certain receipt(s) you are looking for e.g. Cash/Credit Card or Weekend Spending.

Can I assign multiple tags to the same receipt?

Yes, you are able to assign multiple tags to the same receipt. This is useful if there is a wide range of items within the same receipt, or if there is more than one theme to your receipt. For example, you may want to tag a receipt with the labels ‘Weekend’ and ‘Dining out’. This would allow you to filter these receipts if you wanted to see how much you were spending on weekends, or alternatively on dining out.
